Update: See also videos.
Fire on Grand street's south side, in Chinatown, Manhattan 10002.
Update: at 283 Grand, which may have spread to 285 289 and 281.
Next to Pho Grand between Forsyth and Eldridge streets on the south side.It seems to have spread to three buildings.
But the claim is people were evacuated before the roof was blazing.
At least one person was put in an ambulance, probably for smoke inhalation which seemed to include some burning plastics.
Assuming the people are fine and the fighters safe, I'm worried about the fish-monger's happy cats too.
The scale of the fire is larger than I've ever seen for a city (discounting a burning offshore oil rig).
P.S. Gawker notes that some cats were also rescued.
