The attention to the fire is reduced to two fire trucks, some ambulances just in case the building comes down, a NYC buildings team, and a mysterious glistening "OEM" coach, filled with suited self important types. Oh, of course there's 3 TV crews. OEM stands for Operational Emergency Management. My opinion is they're sort of late now. But who knows, maybe they have espresso machines on board for the fighters and engineers to use during breaks.
There is a large crane in Grand street, apparently holding some part of the building by it's cable. This is not for support but to remove items from the middle. Update: the appearance is deceiving. It held a cage that acted as an elevator for crews to get in and out.
It seems that ~200 people have to find a new home due to this whole thing. That story also mentions that there were 20+ violations in the building.
The pharmacy on the south west of Grand and Eldridge still has products in it's windows. Everything else seems to have gotten burned.
Street Closings:
Vehicular traffic remains closed from Allen to Forsyth on Grand, and from Hester to Grand on Eldridge.
Foot traffic can now turn the corner north east on Grand to Eldridge so you can get to Lok Ling restaurant, also you may progress 2 doors eastward from Forsyth allowing Fairtown Trading to open. Cheng Sheng is still out of luck today, but that's understandable.
